About Dr. Pamela Estes

Dr. Pamela Estes is a general practitioner with Big Creek Animal Hospital. She has been with the practices since 2014. Her areas of special interest include neurology and critical care medicine.

Dr. Estes has always loved animals but wasn’t able to have them growing up due to family health issues. She always imagined she would have pets but never thought they would be such an integral part of her career. She pursued an undergraduate degree in biology and initially planned on becoming a human doctor. As her last “fun” job before graduate school, she decided to work at a local veterinary practice. Only then did she realize that a veterinarian does so much more than “give shots.” On any given day, she is a surgeon, an ophthalmologist, a cardiologist, and so much more.

“Every day in veterinary medicine we see something new and exciting.”

She loves the relationships she makes with the families and being able to help their pets is the best feeling ever.

Dr. Estes loves working up challenging cases and giving our patients the best care possible. Some areas of medicine that have a special place in her heart include cardiology, ultrasonography, and neurology. Dr. Estes strives to give our patients the best experience possible and being able to use less invasive diagnostics like ultrasound reduces fear associated with going to the vet.

Dr. Estes shares her home with a Pyrenees/Shepherd mix and two grumpy cats who are the loves of her life. In her free time, she enjoys photography, hiking, cooking, and reading.

What Our Clients Are Saying

My cat Calvin was treated wonderfully while in the care of this hospital!! They went above and beyond when my poor boy was diagnosed with pneumonia! Dr. Estes and Dr. Clark are AMAZING.

M.

Dr. Estes and the rest of the team at Big Creek are amazing. I’m so thankful for moving my dogs here earlier this year – not only for preventive care, but also to address a recent cancer diagnosis. I’m confident we are in the best hands possible having Dr. Estes guiding our dogs’ ongoing care!
